Student Visa Application - ÉTUDES EN FRANCE (EEF) PLATFORM - guide

Choose Campus France Hong Kong if you are from HKSAR or Macau SAR or if you are a holder of a residence HKID or Macau ID (BIR). 

 

You must complete the procedure in the corresponding Campus France centre of your choice, e.g. if you have chosen Campus France Hong Kong, you may not arrange an interview at a Campus France Centre in Mainland China, vice versa.

STEP 1: Register on the Études en France (EEF) platform

  • Log on to Études en France Website and create your account by clicking on "Register".

 

  • Fill in the account creation form. You will receive an email requesting you to choose your password as per the requirements.

 

  • Save your Études en France Identification Number for any future enquiry (ex. HKXX-XXXX).

 

  • Go to Études en France Website to access your account. Click on "Login" and enter your username (id) and password.

 

  • Select, depending on your situation:
  • I am a candidate if you are in the Candidates category ;
  • Students already accepted if you are in the Pre-consular Applicant category.

  • Fill in the required information and upload the necessary documents (academic records, proof of language skills and curriculum).

 

Submit your motivation letter.

STEP 2: Pay the application fee via Alliance Française

  • Once you have completed the steps above, you will then need to pay the application fee for the Études en France procedure. You will be redirected to the website of Alliance Française de Hong Kong where the payment will be carried out. The cost of the procedure is $1800 HKD. Please note that this does not include visa application fees, which will be paid afterwards. The application fees cannot be refunded even in the event where your application is not successful. 

 

  • Please declare your payment on the EEF platform with the transaction details

 

  • Once your payment has been confirmed, you will receive a payment receipt. Your Campus France office will then review your file.

STEP 3: The Academic Interview

  • Your Campus France office will contact you for an appointment for the academic interview. During the interview, you will talk about your academic project in France and your reasons for choosing France and the institution where you have been admitted.

 

  • You must also bring ALL the following documents (originals*) and the Études en France fees payment receipt. They will be verified against the documents that you have uploaded on the EEF platform.
  • *If you do not have a physical original of the document, please ask your institution to send it to campus-france.hong-kong-cslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr , only documents sent directly from your institution will be regarded as origianls

Step 4: Application results from universities (for Candidates Category

  • Once your file is validated by Campus France Hong Kong, you will start receiving responses from universities. Check the calendar and accordingly check the platform for Acceptance or Rejection.

 

  • Confirm the university and programme offer.  

 

  •  Once you have your acceptance letter, print it and start your Visa procedure.

STEP 5: Online visa application and scheduling of visa appointment

  • Create a France-Visas account and complete your application on our online portal: https://france-visas.gouv.fr/
  • Choose a timeslot to submit your application form together with the required documents

If you are financing your stay: your last 3 months bank statements or bankbook in Hong Kong/Macau.

If a sponsor finances your stay: his/her last 3 months bank statements + a copy of the passport or ID of the sponsor + the financial guarantee form (to be downloaded below). 

Note1: you need to have a minimum available amount of 650 EUR, or equivalent, per month of stay in France. Certificates of deposit are not accepted.

Proof of accommodation, or intention of stay for your first weeks in France: rental agreement or original housing certificate or a hotel booking or a letter from your host with a copy of his/her identity document and proof of address (bill less than 3 months old)

Note: You can submit your application up to 3 months before your departure date.

All visa applicants have to go in person to register their biometric data.

No visa application will be refunded in case you withdraw your application or if your visa application is rejected.

STEP 6: Collect your visa

  • You will be notified when the visa is ready for pickup.

You are now ready to go to France!

Important: You have 3 months from the date of your arrival on French territory to finish the OFII online process, thereby validating your student visa. We recommend that you finish the process at the earliest, in order to avoid last-minute stress.
